What this means:
Radiata Pine Weatherboard
Five times more expensive than untreated redwood pine, this superior weather-resistant wood cladding is thermo-treated to remove moisture, resulting in a solid exterior resistant to both movement and mould.
Breather Cavity
This prevents water ingress, safeguarding against moisture, preserving both your garden room's longevity and your peace of mind.
Insulation Board

Provides year-round comfort, shielding you from the elements. Insulated walls keep you cosy in winter and cool in summer, while saving on energy costs.

V'd Lining

To finish off your garden room, the internal walls are lined with interlocking cladding panels offering a touch of class and sophistication - the G&M way.

Assuming all location factors are adhered to, all four designs meet permitted development requirements.

Fully lined and insulated, three-layer construction keeps you warm and dry in the winter and cool in the summer.
No concrete plinth required
Thanks to the simplified and lighter design, only a level slabbed area or ground screws are required.

    Our long-standing traditional Canadian design, The Rannoch is an A-frame apex roof design, square or rectangular in body, which sits proudly in any setting.

    This was the very first Gillies & Mackay Summerhouse which came to life in the 80s but was rediscovered by you in our new Garden Room Specification for 2024. Ideal for year-round use, The Rannoch is your safe haven for work or play.

    Eco Slate roof designs

    Frequently featured on Grand Designs – Eco Slate tiles are made from 100% recycled plastic and are well renowned for their durability. Covered by a 50-year warranty, these slates have undergone rigorous testing, withstanding winds up to 110mph and earning a Class 4 impact rating. They are fire-resistant and compliant with the BS476: Part 3: 2004 standard, boasting a Class 'A' rating.

    The Kindrogan is a pyramid roof on a Rannoch body, a hybrid design to give you the best of both worlds.

    Much like The Rannoch, The Kindrogan Garden Room gives you the versatility of the square/rectangular room for the best use of space whilst having the extra finesse of the shaped roof - which comes tiled in EcoSlate as standard.

    Five sides of wonder

    A shaped goddess comprising of a five-sided roof with an angled corner back, perfect for gardens with limited space. The Deuchny’s pitch comes together in the centre creating an outstanding focal point.

    Her roof is EcoSlate which is beautiful, sustainable and replicates the traditional slate roof for that extra bit of flair.

    The Garden Rooms (under 12m2) are constructed with a 19mm thick tongue and groove subfloor. We offer laminate flooring as an optional extra, however, should you prefer a different floor covering you need to arrange this yourself. The subfloor is not advised to be used as the finished floor.

    The Garden Rooms (under 12m2) do not come with Guttering as standard. We advise that all basework be constructed with a soakaway in mind to allow the water to run off the roof and be drawn away from the building.

    It would be advisable for 10' x 10' & 12' x 10' size of the Rannoch and Vorlich to opt for guttering given the amount of water shed. Guttering is not available on the Kindrogan or Deuchny designs, nor do we believe it to be needed presuming that soakaways are created
