What to Look for When Buying a Shed: Top 5 Tips

Yay! You’re ready to make the big splurge on a fab new shed… but wait… don’t just rush on out there and buy the first one you see!

There’s lots to consider first, so it’s worth doing a bit of research.

Lucky for you I’m kind of an expert in all things sheds, so here’s a short clip with my top 5 tips of what to look out for when buying a shed.

Check it out…

1. Do lots of research beforehand

This is arguably one of the most important steps, as this is where you can make the next part much easier for yourself!

  • What material is best for your build?
  • How much will it cost?
  • What size will suit you best?
  • What sort of base will you need?

So many questions! But by doing the research you can go in with a far better idea of what you need to do next and make the best possible decision as a buyer.

2. Ask around for other people’s experiences

Finding out about other people’s experiences will give you a starting point of places to look for, what possible issues they might have had with a build, and how you can prevent these.

3. Look at various companies and what they offer

Now you know all about what sort of thing you are looking for, you can explore and see what’s out there.

So when you look at that bonny picture of a shed that caught your eye earlier, you can now see that it actually only has 9mm overlap cladding and you realise that will not provide you with the quality you are looking for.

4. Go and visit their show area

It’s definitely a good idea to get a close-up look at something you are going to buy, especially when you are possibly spending a fair bit of money on it.

This means you will get to see everything there and then as well as being able to ask a member of staff any questions you may still have.

5. Go ahead and buy your shed!

Once you are sure you have what you need to know, all your questions have been answered and you’re happy after seeing the product you want to buy, then there’s nothing stopping you!

So go on, head on out there… take Natty’s advice and be shed clever and live the #shedlife.
